Calculating the Building Permit Fee, Plan Review Fee, and Use Tax
First, you need to know the valuation of a project, which is determined by this ICC Building Data Worksheet.
To calculate the amount of use tax owed on a project, first determine the valuation of the project. Divide the valuation by two, and multiply that amount by 4.25%.
Plan review fees are calculated at 65% of the building permit fee.
Application Deposit A non-refundable $500.00 deposit is required for all new residential construction and any commercial remodel or tenant finish. A non-refundable $1,500 deposit is required for any new commercial construction. The deposit is due at the time of application. The deposit will be applied to plan review fees at time of permit issuance.
