The next Rifle Green Team meeting will discuss:

  • Campaigning for the reduction of paper waste
  • Leaves and Lawn pile vs. Larger City Program 
  • Reducing the "personal beverage" container consumption
  • Curbside updates

Local Recycling in Rifle
Rifle's current recycling program is limited to 3 bins located at the Operations and Maintenance Facility, Open Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. 

1.  Cardboard Bin 
Please break down all corragated cardboard and stack flat inside dumpster.  Paperboard is NOT accepted at this location.  (example: cereal boxes) Please also remove shipping and packaging materials before disposal.

2.  Newsrint and paper Bin
Newspaper, magazines, junk mail, office paper and bagged shredded paper.

3.  Commingled Bin
#1 and #2 Plastics, aluminum & steel cans, and glass bottles and jars of all colors.

Exceptions:  No clam shell (berry) containers, cake boxes, dairy tubs (yogurt or sour cream containers) or plastic bags. No aluminum foil, broken glass, light bulbs, medical/pill containers or vitamin bottles.  PLEASE REMOVE LIDS AND NO PLASTIC BAGS






Please recycle your plastic bags at your local grocery store.  Plastic bags are never allowed inside the bins, not even to hold your commingled material.
