Insurance Rates
The City of Rifle offers its employees exceptional benefits, including:

  • Eligibility for health, vision, and dental coverage is available on the first day of the month following your start date. Your choice between PPO or High Deductible Plan.
  • The City pays 100% of Dental and Vision insurance premiums for all employees and their families
  • The City pays a large % of Medical insurance premiums regardless of the plan:
    • 100% for Employee Only coverage
    • 85% for Employee + Spouse coverage
    • 80% for Employee + Family coverage
  • The City contributes up to $550 annually to HRA when PPO is selected
  • The City contributes up to $3500 annually to HSA when HDHP is selected
  • Flexible Spending Accounts, subject to plan terms
  • City payment of 100% of the premium for a $30,000 life insurance policy for employee
    • Optional supplemental group rate life insurance for employees and family
  • 5% City contribution toward 401(a) Retirement Plan (5-year vesting schedule)
  • Up to 3% City contribution toward 457(b) Retirement Plan, when employee elects to participate
  • Twelve (12) paid holidays annually
  • Two weeks paid vacation annually, increasing with longevity
  • Accrual of 96 hours of sick leave per year to a maximum carryover balance of 480 hours
