In 2014, the Rifle City Council established the Public Safety Citizen Advisory Board (Sec. 2-5-40.)
The Public Safety Citizen Advisory Board serves many roles, some of which include:
- Review and provide community perspective and recommendations concerning procedures, programs and the effectiveness of the police service to city officials.
- Enhancing police-community relations.
- Promote public awareness of the City's police services and programs.
- To apprise the City Council, City Manager and Chief of Police of the community's needs for police services.
- Assist with the hiring process for new officers.
