River Island - Community Visioning & Engagement

In 2021 the City of Rifle purchased a 99 acre island in the Colorado River. The proximity of the island to downtown, the CDOT rest area, and the I-70 exit make this parcel important to the future development of Rifle.River Project Rendering 1

With that in mind, the City of Rifle would like residents to help determine what this area will become. Public input is at the center of the vision of the island – everything from what to name the island, to types of connection, to the ultimate development of the area. We invite you to participate the future of Rifle.

  • June 24 Farmers Market 
  • June 27 Park and Recreation Advisory Board Meeting 
  • July 2 Rifle Boat Ramp 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • July 3 Rifle City Fourth of July Celebration 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • July 12 Walmart 10 a.m. to noon
