Senior Center in Hog Heaven

Posted on March 19, 2018 at 3:54 PM by Michael Churchill

The City of Rifle Senior Center received an amazing donation. The Bookcliff,  Mount Sopris, & South Side Conservation District delivered a butchered pig they had purchased at the 4-H sale last year. It was processed and stamped by a USDA certified plant. The Senior Center plans to use the pork in senior meals and is grateful for this wonderful gift. Thank you to the Bookcliff, Mount Sopris, & South Side Conservation District for thinking of our seniors!

The Rifle Senior Center went into operation in 1981 and currently prepares an average of 280 meals each week to the senior population in New Castle, Silt, Rifle and Parachute. Senior meals are a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal. Located at 50 Ute Avenue, the center is open Monday-Friday and offers a variety of activities, events and meals for our seniors in and around Rifle. If you or a loved one are in need of senior meals or would like to be involved in activities, please stop by or call 970-665-6540 for more information.
