[ARCHIVED] Police Seek Information on Attempted Kidnapping

The Rifle Police Department is seeking information from citizens regarding an attempted abduction of a minor child in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 13th. The child managed to fight off the attacker. The incident occurred in the 200 block of West Fourth Street. The investigation is ongoing and the only suspect information available at this point is a male in dark clothing.

Police are asking citizens to report anything they perceived as suspicious either that morning or the day before, Tuesday, June 12th. They are also reminding everyone to be vigilant and report unusual activity.  Reports can be made by calling dispatch at the non-emergent number at ‭(970) 625-8095‬.
