Centennial Parkway is being provided with new utilities, sidewalks, and roadways to the entrance of downtown Rifle. The project is on schedule to finish at the end of the summer. The Park and Ride and bus stop will be on 2nd Street throughout the construction. Vehicles should expect traffic control on Centennial Parkway and a closure on West Avenue at the intersection of Centennial Parkway. The West Avenue closure is for paving and is expected to begin on June 17, 2019.
3rd Street Realignment at Hospital Hill: This is part of the new long term care facility and is changing the alignment of East 3rd Street to provide sidewalks, drainage and improved safety at the intersection of Ash Avenue. New asphalt is scheduled for June 10, 2019 and 3rd Street will be open to the alley east of Ash Avenue by June 17th.
2019 Waterline Project: On June 3, 2019, construction on Highway 6 is starting between Mile Pond Road and Hospital Hill. This project is part of a larger phased project that is improving our water distribution system. This phase of the project will require Highway 6 to be a one lane road with traffic signals. This traffic configuration will take place until the road is paved and the shoulder is restored in September of 2019.
