Within the next week, the 2019 Waterline Project will have replaced the raw waterline from the Colorado River to the water treatment plant. This will provide a much more reliable system for all water users in Rifle. After completion, the waterlines in the Deerfield park area will be replaced. This part of the project will close the trail that goes from Anvil View Avenue to the water tanks and will affect traffic on Acacia and East 30th Street. Pipe is currently being staged in order to help the project move efficiently.
The Centennial Parkway project is nearing completion and Wendy’s is open, even for breakfast. The asphalt has been removed on Centennial Parkway and the median is currently being installed. This will require one-lane traffic during work hours until August 26, 2019. Starting August 26th, there will be temporary closures on both West Avenue and Centennial Parkway to complete paving and striping. By the end of August, all roadwork should be complete. Upon completion, the Park n’ Ride will be moved back to its original location and West 2nd Street will return to two-way traffic.
Road improvements throughout Rifle are scheduled to begin in September. This project is going to fix eight local streets. Traffic and parking will be affected on 24th Place, East Avenue, Dakota Court, Firethorn Drive and Whiteriver Avenue. The project is expected to finish in October. Notices for road closures and parking closures will be sent out by August 23rd and will be updated as the project continues.
