Beginning August 3rd, several streets in Rifle will be undergoing pavement preservation with a process called HA5. HA5 is a high-density mineral bond applied to asphalt, which can significantly extend the life of the pavement. This work will necessitate street closures.
Citizens who live on streets that are going to be affected will be notified 72 hours ahead of time and given specific instructions. Vehicles will need to be removed from the area, and noncompliance may result in the vehicle being towed. Informational board signs will serve as a reminder that the work is scheduled to begin.
For information on the affected areas and details on HA5, please go to www.HA5info.com/rifle/. The site, which is specific to the Rifle project, provides explanations, instructions, and maps. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions section addressing everything from trash collection to arranging for shuttle pickup. Contact information for the project foreman and operations director can also be found on that page.
