Rifle City Manager Tommy Klein and City Engineer Craig Spaulding will be hosting a community meeting on Monday, August 7, at 6:00pm to provide information regarding a sales tax initiative which will appear on ballots this November. The meeting will take place in Rifle City Council chambers, 202 Railroad Avenue. The City is asking voters to approve a .45% sales tax increase. Revenues from this additional tax will be dedicated to the Street Improvement Fund (SIF) which is used exclusively for constructing, maintaining and improving streets in Rifle.
Following a brief presentation outlining the specifics of the request and the anticipated impacts and revenues, there will be a question and answer period. Residents are encouraged to attend this informative and educational forum.
